Theresa Viva started her career in foodservice over twenty years ago when she accepted a management position at the Rathskellar Pub on the Union College campus. She managed the pub for 14 years and, during this period, also became a small business owner when she opened her own dessert shop, Teresa’s Place on Union Street in Schenectady.

Four years ago, Theresa met David Zecchini when her husband worked on one of David’s cars. David invited the Viva’s to dinner in his restaurant as a thank you for the work. As a thank you for the dinner, Theresa delivered some cannoli’s to David and the start of a relationship began.

Just prior to the grand opening of Forno Bistro, Mamma Theresa was hired to work in the kitchen preparing desserts and advising the chef on some of the traditional Italian recipes. Over the years, her position has evolved to include concierge work for the DZ Restaurants group. Theresa can be found greeting guests and passing appetizers at Forno on the weekends.
